Welcome to Hearthside Fibers!
Our story began over 10 years ago, when we established our farm,
Maplewood North, and purchased three bred Shetland ewes. Since then, we have expanded
our Shetland flock, added Polypays, Coopworths, Icelandics and other assorted sheep, until our
flock numbered about 100 head. We then added some Angora, Nigerian Dwarf and Nigora goats to the farm.
But as our focus has shifted slightly over the years, and we head further into middle age,
we have downsized the flock and begun working more with the fiber end of the business.
We hand dye small batches of yarn and roving, which we have sold primarily at fiber
festivals in the Midwest and more recently, through our Etsy shop.
So come on over and browse!
